Ashfield Planning Application thrown out

Settle Town Council has welcomed the decision by Craven District Council’s Planning Committee to reject the controversial application to replace the former public toilets in Ashfield car park with flats and commercial spaces.

Published: 20 January 2023

To clarify Ashfield toilets were closed as a cost cutting exercise several years ago and the Town Council were asked if they were interested in taking over.  The District Councils offer was not financially viable.

The Town Council was one of a number of objectors who attended the planning meeting and will be calling on Craven District Council to renovate and reopen the public toilets.

Should you wish to comment or express your views regarding the proposed reopening please contact your District & County Councillor – David Staveley at cllr.david.staveley@northyorks.gov.uk or direct to Craven District Council at contactus@cravendc.gov.uk
