On Friday the 13th of January the high winds and awful weather caused the flag pole on the top of Castlebergh to snap. The flag pole was behind repair and unfortunately the Council’s insurance company would not cover the cost of a replacement.

Settle Town Council has welcomed the decision by Craven District Council’s Planning Committee to reject the controversial application to replace the former public toilets in Ashfield car park with flats and commercial spaces.
Please note that the pinfold is currently closed whilst repairs to the perimeter wall are carried out. A large section of wall unfortunately came down in the recent bad weather and needs to be reinstated
