Castlebergh Crag Flag Pole
A flag pole has stood proudly on the top of Castlebergh Crag for hundreds of year. Settle Town Council fly the Union Flag, St. George's Cross Flag, Yorkshire White Rose Flag and the Settle Town Council flag from the flagpole, however they do fly the flag of local organisations at it's discretion.
Union Flag flying guidance for UK
The Union Flag is the national flag of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Crown Dependencies and the Overseas Territories. It is a symbol of national unity and pride. The first Union Flag was created in 1606 and combined the flags of England and Scotland; the present Union Flag dates from 1801.
There are designated days when the Union Flag must be flown on UK government buildings by command of His Majesty The King.

1 March: St David’s Day (in Wales)
9 March: Commonwealth Day (second Monday in March)
17 March: St Patrick’s Day (in Northern Ireland)
9 April: His Majesty The King’s Wedding Anniversary
23 April: St George’s Day (in England)
6 May: Coronation Day
13 June: Official Birthday of His Majesty The King
21 June: Birthday of HRH The Prince of Wales
17 July: Birthday of Her Majesty The Queen
8 September: His Majesty The King’s Accession
8 November: Remembrance Day (second Sunday in November)
14 November: Birthday of His Majesty The King
30 November: St Andrew’s Day (in Scotland)
